Developed as an entry project for the 2026 Harper’s Bazaar Future Heritage Design Awards, Heritage Reimagined · Fish & Lantern Glow was inspired by Nanyang-style folk lantern art from the Penang Jewelry Museum, combined with traditional Chinese cultural elements and festive aesthetics. Through Rhino 3D modeling, rendering development, and physical prototyping, the project transforms traditional lantern forms into a contemporary wearable jewelry collection blending Eastern elegance with modern aesthetics.
The collection was developed from cultural references, concept sketches, and silhouette studies rather than existing product photos. Using Rhino 3D, the lantern body, fish motif, floral details, tassels, beads, and metal connections were built and refined as a complete jewelry structure. The same lantern element was then extended into a necklace, hairpin, and earrings, creating a unified collection with consistent visual language.
The rendering process focused on presenting the soft festive atmosphere of the collection, with warm gold metal, pink enamel-like surfaces, jade-green beads, pearl accents, and delicate floral details. Lighting and material tests were adjusted to enhance the translucent, decorative, and ceremonial feeling of the pieces while keeping the jewelry visually light, refined, and wearable.
After rendering the collection visuals, we further developed multi-angle jewelry renders, inspiration collages, concept sketches, Procreate illustrations, artistic compositions, animated presentation videos, and Rhino source modeling files for the project. Members of the accessory design team graduated from University of the Arts London (UAL) and the Royal College of Art (RCA), combining contemporary aesthetics with digital jewelry development throughout the collection.
Production Ready Dimensions
Different materials, textures, silhouettes, archival references, and decorative details were brought together during the early visual development stage of the project. Through collage compositions, color studies, and layered image references, the collection’s atmosphere, emotional tone, and overall visual direction were gradually established before entering the modeling and prototyping process.

Our 3D jewelry development process includes concept research, jewelry sketching, Rhino 3D modeling, rendering development, animation presentations, artistic visual compositions, and production-ready prototyping. Through digital jewelry visualization, we explore cultural storytelling, material details, structural refinement, and collection-based visual direction throughout the entire development process.
